Freeganism?

Options
Bit extreme even for us, but does this happen over here, what happens to all the supermarket waste?

Part money-saving opportunity, part political-statement, and part environmentalism, the modern freeganism movement — also known simply as dumpster diving — has spawned a culture of its own.
A new short documentary film, called “Spoils: Extraordinary Harvest,” intimately explores this culture. The film follows groups of dumpster divers in New York City and paints a portrait of the people who dig for wasted food.

    Yes its quite common here.
    Strangely in France too.
My friends arrived in Paris very early one morning last summer and they found themselves at the closing Veg market. They were amazed to see very well dressed people digging through the boxes etc for fruit and veg, so they got out and did the same, filling their camper with lots of fruit and loads of slightly bruised Veg

I know a freegan in London, he is vegan apart from when he can get food for free that has been dumped - his point is that by not paying he is not financially supporting the exploitative meat industry.
