Since March 2006 i have been voluntarily paying into a company who stopped my creditors harassment and stopped the interest on these debts which had built up to £17000. This has now been taken over by money village. When I enquired about bankrupcy they said it would cost £750 up front. Is this correct please. How does anyone in my position ever afford to go bankrupt, if they cant afford to pay their debts. Im baffled. Also the ppi on these debts must be substantial but again they want £350 up front before they investigate.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It costs £700 up front. Or £525 if you are on certain benefits or have an income low enough for you to be exempt the £175 court fee.
No need to pay anyone to reclaim PPI: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
However, if you go bankrupt any PPI will be claimed by the Official Receiver/trusteeFree/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

As a "silver surfer" that claiming back ppi yourself looks way too complicated for me.
Anyone know what is classed as "low income" to qualify for no court costs please.0 -
Before you go paying a company upfront fees to investigate PPI reclaims, answer this simple question.
Why do you think you were mis-sold PPI?
Depending on your answer it could be as simple as posting on the PPI part of this site where people can help you through the process for free (and not take upfront fees and 20-30% of asny payout)0
