Hiya,
Im an rgn, i done my training with the project 2000 a few years ago. Ive recently gone back to work after having my daughter. It is a very very rewarding job BUT also very stressful, it can be hard sometimes to leave work at work and if I were you, I would PERSONALLY start off as an Auxiliary carer/nurse to begin with to see if it is really for you. That will also get your foot in the door, give you a good idea of exactly what is involved and then decide if you want to train as an rgn, from then on, you can decide what area you want to specialise in.
Hospitals will give Auxiliary nurses/carers, health and safety training, manual handling training and the basics.
Hope this helps...
Also you have to be crb checked

Hello Delilah

I'll move your thread to the 'Employment and Jobseeking' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

• Hi there. I am a nurse and would suggest that you try the RCN (Royal College of Nursing) website which lists requirements for training. They are a good source of information and should be able to help. Good luck.

Try Nmas, they handle most of the nursing applications, the site gives loads of info.

• depending on what qualifications you have you either need c or above in GCSE english, maths and I think biology. If you do not have these most colleges do Access to higher education courses which usually last a year and you build up credits which enable you to go on and study either a diploma or degree in nursing
