ground coffee.
We bought a car off ebay and never asked this question - took us weeks of research.
ground coffee in tights, tied up as a package and under the seats sorted it within about a week.
A little 'package' left in there for a few days and you'll be sorted.0 -
a bit of surgical spirit diluted in the water can work wonders. I de-odorised a leather coat off ebay that way. Was a bargain without the smell LOLEat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Are you sure that the bag is actually smelling of cigarettes and it is not the fabric that you are smelling.
I would have thought that washing it would have removed the smell if it was cigarettes.
Some plastic based materials can smell like cigarette smoke and it never really goes away so it may be the coating on the bag that is causing the smell.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

This is interesting, I hadn't thought of that! It's a polyester fabric kangol bag. I've just had another look at it and it actually does smell of ciggies on the outside as well as the inside. I've got other people to test-smell it too, and it's not my imagination, it really does pong  But I wonder why on earth polyester would smell like that. Either it's the fabric, or the bag's been stored somewhere where it's picked up this odour.
