Competition Contact

Hi all

Firstly a HUGE thank you to everyone on this board :D
I am a newbie to comping and I am loving it, the entering, the buzz everytime I get an email (a lot) and the buzz of the three prizes I've one in the past week :) wasn't expecting anything so was very pleased.

Anyway my questions is, do competitions always contact you if they have won or do some of them just send the stuff out? My Auntie has done some comping but through different sites and she reckons sometimes she has won but just had prizes turn up. If that's the case then I am just going to be very excited all the time!

Thanks

I always presumed they would send a WEM or phone call, however last week I had a book turn up out of the blue from a comp post on here so it seems some companies don't contact you first! I was so pleased and excited with that book, and like you it has now got me wondering each morning if the postie will have a surprise for me!! :)

Hi, and welcome. Most of my wins have just turned up, including my best so far, which was a hamper packed with M&S goodies and Microsoft goodies. So I suggest you go for the 'excited all the time' option. That's pretty much my attitude to comping :D

  • Ive only had 3 wins just appear, most for me I have been expecting, but I am still excited all the time, then disappointed once I realise I have received nothing for that day. Its the same every postal day. Sundays I relax a bit more.
Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:
  • I have had some just turn up-lovely when that happens!!
Well done, sounds your doing well!!
  • Thank you everyone - very useful and I shall remain (very) optimistic and Carry On Comping (oooo new film? lol)

:j well done on your wins up to now :j
sometimes you'll recieve a WEM (winning email) sometimes you can get contacted by phone (WTC) the majority of weekly mags such as take a break, that's life etc always send out a headed LWE (Long white envelope or Long winning envelope)
but, some just turn up :j like your auntie says :)
had quite a few of them :j it's all exciting whichever way they come,
lots of good luck & fairy dust for you :j

:rotfl: Love it, I would love to have a go at writing it. Now then which MSE peeps would fit which Carry On characters? I nominate Martin Lewis/Syd James, Bluebella/Babs Windsor...rotfl:
