Southeastern 25% off online fares not working....

Booked 4 journeys online yesterday with a lovely online discount plus my Network Railcard discount (Folkestone to Charing Cross - £10.35), opted to pick them up at the station machine, went in today and the machine printed 2 travelcards but not the 4 return journeys.
'Ho hum' thought I.......off to the ticket office. No joy - its the second time it had happened but its online only so they referred me back to the website.
Phoned Southeastern who put me through to the web team. Apparently its an ongoing problem but there is nothing to be done. They had informed the main company a week ago. Because I had printed part of the order there is no way to print the rest or to allow me to pick them up at the office or to post them (it takes 5 working days and I need to take the first journey on Saturday 24th). Only thing to do is buy the tickets again, not at the online price cos it doesnt work, and apply for a refund.

After I exploded with fury inside my head, I rationally stated that it was unacceptable and who could I speak to where a certain amount of ire might produce results (not the lady on the phones fault....).

Am currently waiting for a call back from the main customer service team who deny that they have heard about the problem.

The reason for my post......? Firstly to stop anyone else purchasing with the view to printing and travelling on the same day and secondly.....

Surely there is some law that I can throw at them? I have purchased the tickets.........grrrrrrrrr. Help, MSE forumites!

If it is technically not possible, what sort of law do think that is going to change that?

Of course you can expect them to provide the service that they have advertised and that you have paid for.

Perhaps agree it with them first, but maybe your only option is to buy the tickets you need from a ticket office, and seek a refund of the extra from them later.
  • what were the 4 return journeys? A travelcard is valid for the return journey also so Im unsure what 4 return journeys you are on about.

As above, last time I got a travelcard I had one coupon that covered the train to London, tubes etc. in London and then the train back.

Did you actually try to travel on it?
