Hi guys,
I have £1500 in council tax arrears, I am now, thankfully in a position where I can clear the balance but the balance is now £1789 due to chrages for non payment, and bailiff visits.
I am in a position to pay off the total amount, including the charges.
Is there anyway that I can neogiate to clear the balance if the charges are removed?
does anyone have any experiance of dealing with the council in this matter, I want the noose around my neck gone, but if I can do this and save myself a good £300 I will do,
your feedback / suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Unlikely as the council will have to foot the bailiff fees out of public funds.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
