Energizer batteries 10 pack for 99p at Superdrug

Options
Saw an advert in Metro today, advertising 10 pack energizer ultra+ batteries for 99p at Superdrug, a saving of £4. Apparently, the offer is only valid today only. I have used them before and found that they quite lasting in energy hungry devices, such as digital cameras. So grab them while you can!:p

  • There is also offers on all the medicines, everything is 20p off. This can be especially good on cheap items like ibuprofen which is 35p for 16, you get it for 15p!

The paracetamol which is 16p ends up giving you back money but I think they've cottoned on to that so the offer doesn't work on that anymore.

They aren't Energizer ultra +, they are the standard Energizer that are 10 for 99p.
Still good value though, it would have been stunning or more likely a misprint if it were for the ultra +'s.
You'll find them by the tills, instead of with the other batteries on the shelving.
They are in a cardboard surround type packaging with the words "Family Pack" on the top.
Dates on the ones I bought were 2013 so they'll last.
One store I went in said they had a 3 per customer limit but the second store I went in didn't.
  • Hi springbok,

The packs I bought this morning were all marked 'Energizer Ultra+' but a quick check on the Energizer website seems to suggest that Ultra+ is their standard battery.

They were in 2 blisters on the card, one blister with 8 batteries and the other blister with 2 with a sticker above saying '10 pack'.

    The use by is 2012.

The Cannock branch has the family pack (Linky) in stock. The shelf price is displayed as £2.99 but they scan in at 99p

This is indeed a good price for alkaline batteries, but always bear in mind that the TV advertising of Energizer Bunnies you're paying for only compares them with zinc carbon batteries, not other alkalines. In other words, they don't claim they are any better than any non-brand alkaline cell out there. So do not be duped by the brand. Advertising: legalised lying.

Oh, and it baffles me why you would want to use them for digital cameras when an investment in some NiMH rechargeables and a charger will pay for itself dozens of times over both in environmental terms and straight into your pocket. "Family pack" indeed - buy them and help to turn the world into a chemical waste dump for your offspring!
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
