Gluten Free and Pregnancy Friendly xmas starters

Hello All
My parents are coming round for Christmas, it's the first time they have been able to actually come to ours as we've always gone to them as we've always lived away from both our families. Now we're back "home" I want to do a proper Christmas myself.
We always go the whole hog with 3 courses and mince pies etc etct etc..
For starters usually we do pate for me and prawns or salmon for everyone else for starters (as I don't like fish) .
This year I will be almost 7 months pregnant and can't eat pate and my mum is a coeliac (no wheat/gluten).
So I need suggestions! Ideally I'd like to make something we can all eat, so doesn't involve fish, or too much effort to make it gluten free.
Any help?

Could you do a pot of soup? Something like brocoli and bacon goes down well for our christmas lunch? It's useful to serve as portions can be altered to suit. It would be suitable for gluten free if you are careful what thickener used if you need one. Also you could serve it with gluten free bread or oatcakes?
What about goat 's cheese (different types are suitable for pregnancy) and red onion salad, or motzarella, tomato and basil salad. Could make either into a tartlet if you got gluten free cases/pastry.0 -

I know it's really naff but if we ever have a starter for Christmas Day dinner, we have melon with a raspberry coulis. Light and palette cleansing!0
