  • I think it is unfair, HOWEVER, he found a loophole and was entitled to do so.

My morals and his morals are different - I wouldn't enter several times, it takes the fun out of it. I never enter competitions where there is no limit of entries etc
 Thank you to everyone!

I agree with you - I too only ever enter comps x 1 - even if they allow unlimited entries (with the exception of the mag dailies and ITV comps (which I only enter 6 times!).

I tend to believe in fate - what is meant to be is meant to be. :o
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

I'm the same as you - hardly enter the mag dailies since they were playing up and ITV just enter my mobile the maximum times. With a life outside comping (I know, shock! horror!) and a little one on the way, I don't have enough time to do the ones I want to do once :rotfl:

Wow! Fed up of seeing the greed come through on so many of these competitions! Rules should be made clear and companies (not just Pepsi) should make them so it's one per person / IP address - not one for you, then you can enter for the other 100 members of your family / friends! If the luck is with you then you'll win with 1 entry, not 100s! ITV are becoming just as bad - up to 6 times per number, then we have people openly admitting that they use friends and families numbers to enter

Why can't people just stop being greedy?! :(

Just for a balance of opinion. I disagree.

Personally enter ITV comps once under my own name as they take to long for me to enter under anyone elses.
If I had more time then too right I would. so long as it is a legitimate family member, (and I don't mean great aunty Mabel who died 50 years ago) then I do not see the issue.

Also if you read the I WON forum today you could interpret your post as a direct dig at one of our fellow MSE members good fortune today?

E2A: if ASA say Pepsi were at fault then I trust their judgement, after all we are all quick enough to trust it when it's in our favour.

No direct "dig" at anyone in particular. I am not God of competitions - I have no right to dictate what I feel should happen. What I am allowed is my own opinion. Which is what my previous post is.

However, if someone feels the need to enter any competition numerous times in names of other people, apart from having a lot of spare time, I feel it's kind of wrong. Impersonating in a way I suppose. Most competitions do use the T&C that states (And I quote ITV for this one!!)
2.7. Entries must not be sent in through agents, third parties or on behalf of another person unless otherwise specified in the interaction information. Such entries are void. Bulk entries are void and cannot be accepted.

I believe the "behalf of another person" is my main point here ;)

So, congrats to the MSE member who won, although (by ITV's own terms) should be invalid :o But my point was aimed at the person who entered thousands of times for a totally different competition!

I don't know what the terms and conditions were for this comp but a lot of comps say that entering on behalf of other people is against the terms and conditions. This includes the itv comps

"2.7. Entries must not be sent in through agents, third parties or on behalf of another person unless otherwise specified in the interaction information. Such entries are void. Bulk entries are void and cannot be accepted. " http://www.itv.com/termsandconditions/generalcompetitionvoteandpolltermsandconditions/default.html

I enter as many times as I am personally allowed with itv comps. Some comps that allow unlimited entry I will do daily but most i only enter once as I don't have the time to do any more! Not sure how long these people must have spent entering the pepsi comp if they entered manually!

ETA: sorry must have been posting at the same time as jaibaby as didn't see the above post which is strangely similar!

    2013: £134.96

Everyone is allowed to an opinion which is why I started my post with "just for balance of opinion......"
I apologise for interpreting it as a direct dig then.

Fair enough, never read their T&C's as far to busy entering, but personally I think it's on a moral par as a parking violation.

Good luck in your future comping.

I don't think anyone is having a dig at anyone in particular. I think people are just merely saying how they prefer to comp. I enter once and keep my fingers crossed. Some people enter as many times as they possibly can whether they are playing by the rules (ie just using their own details) or entering using other family members or fake names.

Also some people would spend 24 hours comping if they could whereas other may not be able to because of work or family commitments or simply because they want to have a life away from comping to pursue hobbies or enjoy family life.

Cheating is what annoys me - when people win through cheating - it just spoils it for people entering correctly. People with several FB accounts, Twitter accounts etc - it is cheating. People who use their families names/pet's names to enter again is cheating in my opinion too.

Was just about to ask - entering family names or fake names - it is (in my eyes) cheating. If I see a competition suitable for someone in my family - for example, win a car, I'll tell my brother to enter (as he drives), if there's any for kids, I'll make a note and let my daughters decide whether they want to enter. My mum has asked me to enter things for her, which I've refused to do - I put my time into it, so could she.

This came up a while back, with Facebook in particular - people's OHs springing up as compers - mine would rather sit at his xbox and shout at the football :rotfl:

Not saying there aren't some couples that comp together - how do you tell? Nice easy way to get around the multiple profiles / entries "Oh, my husband has entered too".

As said before, nothing I can do about it except express my opinion - when I win I do so with a clear conscience :)

mrmshaw - apologies if I came across as a moody old moo - not in the best of moods today and bump is giving me hell practicing his kicks. Best of luck for you too xx

I'm with you - yes, even entering for your mum, dad, partner, child is cheating - if they want to enter - they should physically do it themselves!
