CCJ and credit record

Hi, It's not clear from previous threads on the subject so I'm hoping you can give me a definitive answer.
Is a CCJ removed from your credit file 6 years after the date of the judgement, or 6 years after the date it was settled?
For example, we had a CCJ judgement in December 2006, and paid it off in April 2011. Therefore, will it be removed from my credit record in December 2012 (i.e., next month) or in April 2017?
Many thanks.

Thanks for the response. Everything I have read on internet forums, Experian website etc, points to this being the case, but there was a doubt in my mind because someone did say to me that the act of paying off the CCJ (and therefore, by definition, reference to the CCJ itself) would be on my record for 6 years, and that I would have been better off not paying the debt, because it would have been removed from my record anyway....0

It doesn't get reset. It is 6 years from the initial judgment date, no matter what.

It may take until the end of January 2013 to get to lenders (and even some CRA's take their time removing such items) however depending on when the updates actually happen.0
