They haven't taken the 75% final payment yet as the installer said he would send the invoice on return to base. He has agreed to hold the invoice and date all the MCS paperwork from the date everything is working correctly. EPC has gone through OK I understand.Martyn1981 wrote: »I remember reading a statement (I think from SMA), comparing failures to a bath-tub profile. Failures at the very start as faults are discovered after install, but quickly replaced, then a flat (bottom) with very low levels of failure. Followed 10 to 20 years later with the other side of the bath as failure rates accelerate.
@ Dave, not only have they taken your money, but now they're making a song and dance about it too!

It was relevant to me - Roger was saying not to worry too much about inverter failure as the replacement cost will be way less than the original purchase price

To complete the story. A Solar Edge engineer called yesterday and replaced the inverter. I'm pleased with today's generation figures - and with the service from Solar Edge.Dave_Fowler wrote: »The Solar Edge inverter fitted yesterday lasted 2 hours before dying. Awaiting replacement. The installer said it was the first one he had fitted that had failed. Just my luck!
