Yellow Cornmeal Flour

Options
After seeing Cornbread on recent cooking programmes, and buying a loaf from a Farmers market stall, we would like to try making a loaf ourselves, but cannot find any suitable flour in the supermarkets.
It is available on-line, but is very expensive, due to shipping costs, does anyone know of any high street shop that stocks this flour?.

  • You may find this in the world food section of the larger supermarkets. I bought a 1.5 kg bag of fine corn meal fairly cheaply the brand was Natco. I think Asda and Sainsburys sell it.

Being from America and knowing all about cornbread this is the one I use, I usually find it in the nearest big Tesco in the world food isle.

Yes but it needs to be much finer for making breads.
  • Some waitrose branches sell the fine cornmeal, East End brand, which is what you're looking for, pretty much any vaguely middle eastern or Indian subcontinent shop should sell it too. I'm not too keen on corn bread but I do have some lovely multi flour loaf recipes including a small amount of cornmeal flour and they are delicious xx

Hi, unfortunately, our local Tesco does not stock this, nor does our Morrisons.
