Looking for glue to repair Timberland boots.

As per thread title, managed to drop a knife on my new timberlands. Knife carved a small "flap" from the front of the boot, currently hanging on by the bottom of the flap.
Thinking I could probably glue this back on then wax over to fill any "gap" left over.
Any recommendations? thanks

my 'go to' glue is now 'Pinflair Glue gel'! I havent come across anything this glue wont stick! it isnt cheap, and it isnt 'instant' like superglue. but, once it is stuck.........its stuck forever! I get mine from createandcraft.tv but you can get it from craft shops and some Dept stores and DiY stores. Collall do a similar glue and I am sure I have seen those in various stores. it takes about an hour to 'set' and overnight sees it 'permanent'. before that you can 'reposition it' to get a perfect 'join'! sorry to sound evangelical - but, its the best strongest glue I have ever used! I love it!0

Wow, that is a GLOWING endorsement! You think it's suitable for leather? Had been looking at "gorilla" glue, but the "foaming" aspect of it scared me a little.
I'm also toying with taking it to a cobbler, perhaps they have "specialist" ways of repair? Although I'd imagine it'd be quite expensive.0 -
yes, it sticks leather. I mended a leather belt with it. you know how the buckle comes off? cos the folded bit comes apart? it doesnt now!
I used to use it just for cardmaking - but, its such a good glue - I now use it for mending most things I would previously have used superglue for. but not for false nails - I wouldnt want them stuck on permanently!0 -
I'm not sure if it's the same as my case, but the edge of my walking boot had come away from the side plastic bit (good description!). I took it to cobbler and he glued it for just £4
so not pricey at all. Most cobblers will advise you upfront if you take the boot in.
