Didn't really know were to put this so if I have posted in wrong place please give me a shout......My partner is changing mortgage deals at the moment and asked if he could add my name to the deeds no problem the lender said but you have to change the deeds with the solicitor also. The soliciters want £300:eek: to add the name, would it just be cheaper to leave it to me in a will. We have lived in it together for a long time but because of my serious health problems we just thought it was a sensible precaution to have one less thing for me to worry about if the worst happens but £300 just seems crazy - Any ideas anyone....that doesn't involve a biro and tippex;)

That sounds excessive as our panel solicitors will charge £495 all in for a remortgage. It would normally cost around £125 + vat for a transfer of equity.
