Muffin Maker

I was in a BHF charity shop today and a Muffin Maker sort of jumped into my hands:j(I did pay for it!). It appears to be unused and I am dying to try it, but just wondered if anyone can give me a review of these gadgets. Could I make mini cup cakes in it or would they rise too much? What about other recipes?
