car cleaning kit/hamper ideas?

id like to make hubby a cleaning kit type hamper or bucket?

i was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what or where i can get some decent priced things to go in it, like cloths, sponges, wash & wax etc.

everything ive looked at seems to be quite expensive per item, obviously id like to buy stuff that works.

also anything motorbike related.....any ideas?

TIA!

  • You can get a car wash sponge quite cheaply from Wilkinson's. Air fresheners from the poundshop. Microfibre towel and demister pads also from the poundshop.

For motorcycle related stuff, how about googling images of motorcycling cartoons and making a folder of them? You can buy a display book from the poundshop and print out any funny cartoons. I did this for my sister (not motorcycles, though - Scouting, as she is a Beaver leader) and she loved it.
  • A few weeks ago I got a long handled ice scraper out of Home Bargains, with a brush bit on the handle which I thought was good as I can never reach the top of the windscreen when I'm trying to scrape it. It was only about 69p I think. It's shaped like a windscreen wiper. Worth a look?

I'm needing something like this to reach the top of the window on my works van :T

Deffo check pound land, they usually have lots of car cleaning stuff.

Motorbike stuff.... There is a wee shop near my work that sells a mouse mat and coaster set. I've bought one covered in a few different styles of bikes, just saw the same one on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/new-motorbike-computer-mouse-mat-and-coaster-set-/350647863030?pt=UK_BOI_Office_Equipment_Supplies_Office_Equipment_ET&hash=item51a43dc6f6 Think the shop near me sells them for £3, maybe less x
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • I saw quite a bit in Poundland the other day, here is the link to examples of their car care products:

so i have also got one of those small tool box thingys and put in emergency items, high viz vest, folding snow shovel (we live in scotland) warning triangle that sort of thing and smaller things, a keyring that lets you set how long you paid for parking (dont want him getting a ticket:D) airfreshners etc
  • thank you all for your ideas, think i will pop to poundland at the weekend.

kingfisherblue, you gave me an idea of getting him a replica model of his motorbike along with some cartoon and real pictures, so ive been searching so hard to try and find a kawasaki zx9r die cast, but they all seem to be green and his is blue/purple :(
