I know this probably isn't the right place to put this, but i'm not sure where is!
Has anyone taken out the Pru Health policy through quidco? Theres £115 cashback but how long does it take to come through? Has anyone taken it out, claimd the cashback and then cancelled the policy within the 30 days cooling off period?
A bit dodgy i know, but had anyone had the same idea?

Yes I did that and cancelled the direct debit after the first monthly payment had gone out, but it's a good job that I check my bank account daily online, because what they did was to put in a new direct debit to my bank (without writing to tell me, which they are required to do) and tried to claim another 2 months of premiums in one hit. Fortunately I spotted it and complained to my bank, who cancelled the DD again and made sure that they couldn't reinstate it...Thanks to all who post constructively.

I did think about doing this, but I thought better of it. I do feel that if tons of people do this the merchant will stop offering the cashback. Now that won't affect me because I don't want health insurance but other people might. I do however want car insurance and household insurance etc, so I worry that the companies will pull the cashback all together. I think it's best to use quidco for the stuff we do need and want. I have no issue with taking the gambling sites for their cash though, who cares if they run and never come back (once they've paid of course):A

There was a blog on Quidco back in February (I think) regarding Zurich. SOmeone actually asked this question on the blog and Zurich actually got wind of it and withdrew from Quidco there were quite a few people who had taken their policies out in good faith and were worried about their cashback. I think there was also a thread on the insurance forum on MSE about it.0

I did this..although not intentally
I signed up for the cover...then about a month later I recieved a pack from BUPA, turns out my employer pays for BUPA cover for meWell, thought I, there is no point in paying twice, no matter how bad my health seems to be at the moment.
So I cancelled the DD with the bank, before my first premium was due to go out and thought nothing else of it - I hadn't paid, but I hadn't claimed either. (They did resubmit the DD about 3 times! Naughty people, in the end I emailed them and said that as I'd later found out that my employers already pay for me, I no longer needed the cover, sorry for any inconvenience).
I assumed that although the £115 was showing as tracking, Pru would decline it before validation. How wrong I was lol, it was paid into my account a couple of weeks later. I've moved the £115 to a savings account, just incase they report me or something and quidco want the money back, as it wasn't my intention to decieve. Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190
