s/a when s/employed and paye

When the s/assessment is due in january do i have to forecast the rest of my earnings up to april? what about my paye earnings? do i give an estimate for those too? or do i just give what i have earnt so far for both? Just trying to get my head round it all so i can get all my paperwork together ready.
