Just found this on another forum I'm a member of. Not sure if it works yet as I haven't got my bill yet but worth a go???

O2 mobile customers do not worry when u call 08445526855 as it announces that call costs 5 pence per minute, but O2 do not charge this call as it consider this as normal call to landline. It’s the same for the other networks using 07744974506.

Clear Instructions as to how to use the access number
1. Dial the access number
2. Dial your international number (do not press send or call button)
3. Remember that these access numbers are good for people using the pay monthly contract phones and not the pay as you go phones if using mobiles.

I'm not with O2 so I can't comment but I assume the announcement is an automatic one for dialling a 0844 number. But I'm guessing that the time spent on phone will come out of your free minutes.

As for the charge per minute from landlines, that's if you want to call from a landline (then it isn't free).

Just posted it to be helpful but like I said, not had my phone bill through yet but I'm hoping it's free!

Cant call this on 3 - "this call will be charged at your standard per minute rate".

It works perfect on O2. I have two O2 Off Peak 1000 contracts and I use all the minutes to call abroad. Both contract were bought on cashback deal, so I make my international calls free + some profit by selling the handset & quidco cashback. http://www.o2.co.uk/mobilestariffs/tariffs/specialnumbers

1 They are Simply Fone Affiliates number your promoting. Which is is not allowed. You might wanna remove the numbers.Or are you the affiliate.

2. Calls are not Free on O2 they come out of your inclusive minutes which you normally pay for .

3. O2 are not allowing calls to 08 NGN numbers out of inclusive minutes on new contracts from 1/5/2007

Didn't realise that they were affiliate numbers and no, I am not the affiliate.

I have altered the title of the thread and the opening line so it now states it will come out of any free minutes you have but if the post is still a problem then I will look into removing it.

I'm still new to the board and finding my feet. I posted it as I thought it would be useful for people, I call my family who live abroad and thought this was a good find as I always have loads of left-over minutes at the end of the month which just get wasted.

The 084x numbers for dialling abroad comes off your inclusive minutes. If you are on 3, t-mobile or Orange, you need a 079Xxxxxxx number..then it will come off your inclusive minutes as well.

As for Vodafone,..all numbers wont work. you will need to pay cut throat prices to call overseas from your mobile. Might as well use a landline to call.
