RBS Mortgage - Trouble with ID!

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had similar problems with the RBS like I have.

About 4 weeks into our mortgage application the RBS asked for copies of our passports as ID. We both went into branches and had them scan a copy and fax it to the Mortgage Centre.

The next day I phoned to make sure they had them and was told yes.

The next week I get a call saying they still havent recieved any ID. I told them it was sent a week ago and I was told they had it. I'm told they will go chase it up and get back to me.

Obviously no one called back so I called them and was told, yeah, sorry, we found the ID.

Now, today, the day everything is meant to be finalised, I called them this morning to make sure everything was ok. Again I was told yep everything is fine. Just needs to be signed off and its done.

3 hours later I get a call, we still dont have your ID.

WHAT???

They look again, oh, we have yours but not your wifes.

So now I'm going to have to go back into the bank and get my wifes ID scanned again! Further delaying the process.

Really, really, really fed up with the RBS over this issue.

Who can I complain to and will it make any difference if I do?

Maybe they will understand my frustration and knock a few % off my rate! Aye right.

    Complain to them.

Not much else you can do.

    Ask for compensation for inconvenience.
