Been out babysitting, just in and had a super speedy skim read.

Tales of past childhood memories have rung lots of bells for me....
......one of my own - after the evening meal my dad used to put BRICKS in the oven, which retained heat from the oven and we used to have them wrapped in towels as bed warmers!

I was born early 1960's (not 1860's:p) and lived in a draughty house and at the time envied my friends who lived in snug flats without ice on the inside of windows and the need to put coats on top of the bed to keep warm.

We had a new outfit for Christmas, one main present, a stocking and selection box :j. My best present was a Tiny Tears doll and my mum had knitted lots clothes for her :)

    Night everyone :)

I used to get a glass pop bottle filled with boiled water and wrapped in a towel in bed (late 60s here:D) health and safety would have a field day with that:rotfl:

Hopefully night from me although I've just had my normal large cup of decaf coffee before bed... at least it should have been decaf:( Was on auto pilot and realised I've just had two heaped teaspoonsful of normal coffee. I think I could be saying good morning to Westie before I'm tired enough to go to bed.
    Awaiting a new sig

if you write the following (without a space between [ and Q )

[ QUOTE= username; 8 digit post number]copy and paste the text from the closed thread

    you get[/QUOTE]
Now that just hurts my head

...Grrr, sure i quotes another one but its gone!
