WoooHooo - thank god I read back! I dragged the OH,DD,DS to Hyde Park this summer - yes, the one when the plug was pulled.

The weather had been dreadful that week (of course) and so we only went up to see Bruce, rather than the whole day. There were already thousands there, but when I asked the kids where they wanted to stand, DS (15y) said "At the front"!!! Well, it was quite embarrassing pushing through, with our little train of 4. Got about a third of the way back, and stayed put. Made friends with those around us. Then DS (13y) fainted!! Hubby dragged him out and they sat at the back. DD and I stayed there and I was right in front of him!! Woo - not that close, but I had a great view. It was worth the 35 year wait!!!! He opened with Thunder Road, stripped bare - just piano, and him and OMG - his voice! (Going weak thinking of it!!!:rotfl:) I confess to a few tears!! LOL! My DD was blown away - she looked at me and whispered "Oh! His voice"!!

So - the whole family were converted. He is something else live - as we drove home I put the CD on in the car and DD asked me to turn it off - she said it was just not as good as hearing him live! What a great family outing!!

    :o:oThanks for listening guys!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean. (Misread the bit about being stripped bare-then realised you ment TR). Can understand your DD's way of thinking with his voice. It's amazing the vast different age groups of people that turn out to see him. I saw him live in Indianapolis one year, in December. Had very good position as well. At the end, he sang Santa Claus is coming to town and asked what we'd like for Christmas (difficult decision there, eh Mrs Jagger;)he looked at me (and others probably!) and smiled and stretched his arms out. Good arms to be cuddled by. Everytime that record comes on, I am transported back there. Happy thoughts.

I baked 3 Xmas cakes last weekend and have just brushed some more brandy over them to keep moist before the marzipan goes on. Is it wrong that I licked the brandy laden brush after:eek::rotfl::rotfl:

Wow! don't know how you do it, first time on here since last week due to being a bit down, and just read the new about poor Tigercub Polly.
You must be a remarkable person to cope with all that and still have the time and energy for making Christmas Cakes. My Mary Berry one from last year is still in the packet and I don't have a 3 year old and poorly cub. Well Done ***

  • If ur out and about in mr t today check the end promotional aisles on the dairy section. Just got 3 packs of classic cheese selection 490g currently on offer at £4 but this was in the main dairy section. On the promotional end sel states £6 but 3 for 2, this offer expired on 27 nov. Bought 3 packs, scanned at £4 each and charged £12 - no multi saver came off. Used the £3 off dairy moc so paid £9. Over charged £4 - £8 DTD issued no prob so 3 packs cost me just £1
