Evening thread, only had a chance to skim quickly but hope everyone has had a good day. Bubbs hope you're soon allowed home, Nikki glad you got your Sky sorted.

New Items in Mr T Goody Bags (Pharmacy Counters) :D

Is it wrong that a person can get so excited over a goody bag? :rotfl::rotfl:No, I don't think so - well I think I have reason to, can't believe what was in the one I got given to today. It only had a fab full size Colgate 360 Whitening Toothbrush inside - just checked on MSM (well it was rude not to ;)) - they sell for £4! I would never pay that for a manual toothbrush, but when it's free it's so much nicer :T

Bag also contained a pocket size pack of Kleenex Tissues, £1 off £5 pharmacy / health aisle moc (not another one lol), a Halls cough sweet and a 50p moc for Sterimar Nasal Spray.

Hope your store has these too :D

Off to catch up up properly now with a nice cuppa :):):)

Can I ask what these goody bags are and how you get them??

Thanks everyone :D Yep, carp time. Kinda brought it home to me yesterday when we went back in for her anti b's.. the nurse who admitted us said her ward had been worried about if Polly would pull through  But onwards and upwards.

Re: xmas cakes - i finally made 3 yesterday (should have done them two weeks ago). I'll feed them with brandy/rum for about 2 weeks then marzipan, leave them for 3 days to set and finally ice them all (6 to do in total)

tigerwhite sorry to hear youv'e had such a rotten time lately, please take it easy and rest when you can. Thinking of you and your family :A

Hello, only me. I've not been on for 12 days because life has been sticking two fingers up at me.... Dad's uncle passed away, then Gran passed away and the day before her funeral, Polly tigercub contracted bacterial meningitis at 10 weeks old  :(We were in the hospital for all of ten mins before the bed was swarmed with numerous nurses and doctors and tigercub was diagnosed very quickly. Been living at the hospital as you can imagine but she is on the road to recovery thank goodness :j and we have been discharged. She has to go back everyday for her anti biotics (still has a canula in her hand). I must say I'll be glad to see the end of November :o

OMG what an awful time you have had lately, glad your little one is now on the mend.

Sky box is plugged into the satellite dish not the internet, so they send a "wipe all" signal through the satellite I'm guessing. Happened to my mother - when Dad died she cancelled sky sports from her package and instantly the sports recordings disappeared. They did offer to let her have the sports for a few weeks more if she wanted but she didn't, so they warned her it would happen and it did. They weren't being malicious - their bereavement team were very sympathetic - but it is an automatic process.

I remember reading somewhere (on MSE I think) that the kill signal is sent periodically for 3 months through the satellite dish. If you unplug the box as soon as you cancel and only plug it back in after 3 months you will still have your recordings and be able to use it as a HD recorder for freesat. I have no idea whether this works tho.

    It's only a game
