R.I.P Larry Hagman :A
I used to love watching Dallas dear JR we used to love to hate him. Can't believe he carried on acting at 81. Liking the new Dallas too but can't beat the original.0 -
Gotta agree the old style machines had a great feel about then that the new versions with all their bells and whistles sadly lack.
Did notice but thought best not to comment after being roundly chastised (rightly so) for even raising the subject :rotfl:
Ballroom Blitz, love all that Chinn/Chapman 70's stuff - Sweet, Suzi Q and Smokie (notice they all start with S  )
me too.. i take pish out of hubby for living in 80's but I so wish i had been born earlyer.. I love 70s I love Chapman (im meaning Tracy) I'm a rocker I suppose if I had to bracket myself but I justmusic....
Now thats one heck of a tune :money: Right up there with Teenage Kicks :T
I put that on after followed by jet but won't post now:o done a few...

Good evening Elite :hello:
Such rotten weather up and down the country, I only hope that those with floods stay safe.
I saw this warning too late  much too late :eek: I dare not say how many things I bought nor how much I spent tbh
All I will say is that DS4 (the grump one) decided to join us and he bought some stuff for his room  he did think about getting a chair so he would be sitting in comfort whilst spending hours on CODNo room in car for chair so he couldn't get it
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:really made me chuckle Altojack,
Oh dear, no space for a chair? I'm assuming u were piled up high with all your IKEA goodies already! lol:p I was too just like that, the boot barely shut that day~!
If it helps for u to know how silly i was, I bought 6 'NOT' floor uplighters, at £12 each, these then went down to £6.90 2 months later and £4 something a month after that!! :eek:Oh how i have kicked myself for doing that all these yrs back, saying that my bro still has 2 going strong after 9 or 10 yrs, still work brilliantly! Bet u didn't buy 6 lamps, ey? so now that u know I'm sillier outa us, do share, tell us what u got, we would all love to know?
Hello to all:hello:
hope everyone has had a nice saturday and will have a nice relaxing sunday xx
fingers crossed no more rain, so upsetting to hear of those of you lovely people whom are flooded:( very very upsetting to read of the evacuations, hugs to all xx:eek:FunkyFeet:eek:Elite 5:2 #190 -

We still have a bottle of cointreau left over from those days because no one likes it.
What I think is one of the Best Cocktails ever made contains Cointreau
Between the Sheets (from diffordsguide)- ¾
- shot
- Bacardi Superior rum
- ¾
- shot
- Courvoisier Exclusif VSOP cognac
- ¾
- shot
- Cointreau triple sec
- ¼
- shot
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ⅛
- shot
- Monin Pure Cane sugar syrup (65°brix, 2:1 sugar/water)
- ½
- shot
- Chilled mineral water (omit if wet ice)
My Version
10ml - Sailor Rum
15ml - Brandy
15ml - White Rum
15ml - Triple Sec / Cointreau
05ml - Fresh/Jif Lemon Juice
15ml - Sugar Syrup
15ml - Grapefruit Juice
Mix (for at least a minute) in a shaker with lots of ice cubes (10), usually shaker gets frosty and fingers may stick so gloves or a tea cloth may be useful. Strain and serve immediately with a lemon rind twist.
Some folks prefer a little extra Cointreau (20ml) -
Mostly I use T value spirits and these work well -
Recently the T.Finest Triple sec is same price as Cointreau . . . . so have been buying the Cointreau -
Sub the Sailor Jerry for any dark rum or any Capt Morgans.
Tesco value Brandy while not "cheap" any more is still a great buy as its very smooth (for the price)
The above quantities make two drinks, or at a pinch 3 drinks as the ice melts fast and adds (enough) water and should be served in a coctail glass (or any stemmed glass).
All that said . . . .
A full Irish measure (25ml) of Cointreau served on 5/6 decent ice cubes in a Whiskey Glass is one heck of a nice drink (for Girls, that is)

Evening all
having a quick catch up before going out with my bestest on the pishanything to get away from t$%&&* b*((%^$£ who has decided to bail one of his daughters out again (only ever want anything to do with him when she needs money) using the money I'd set aside to get my new brake discs and pads for my car (in my eyes a safe car is a bit more of a priority than giving £200 to a 21 year old who's just lost her job and is in no rush to get another while daddy pays her debts
)....rant over.
I also didnt get the hampers based on the above (but because I decided my car was more of a priority - shame hubby didnt think the same).....which I would have loved ...if only to reclaim the baskets to use for hampers for next Xmas
hopefully the hampers will be on such a fab offer again in the new year (hint hint to the Norfolk company if they're reading)
hope everyone is well and staying warm and dry...or at least wrapped up warm if out wombling ( I know theres a few out there that cant resist a womble no matter the weather)
Looby my friend has a o/h (or as i like to call him sh**ty half) like yours, spends her wages on his kids from previous marriage...almost every month hence leaving them only enough for food and no days out, cinema trips or date nights! Make a stand...you said its YOUR money for YOUR car (notice the capitals, its yours, -he didn't buy it for you!) nothing more important than being safe on the road! his 21yr old can earn their own pennies!
Not to get to personal or be nosy...but keep your money separate so he can't spend it on his kids! surely u don't go to work to earn money for his kids, for you both, yes, but since your o/h doesn't understand this, I doubt you spend his wages on your family members? I bet no, so - keep it away from him I say
ps.Rant anytime, here to listen xx:eek:FunkyFeet:eek:Elite 5:2 #190
