re holiday hours

hi,
didn't really know where to put this but i hope someone can help?
well i work for a charity but i am based inside a hospital although we fund for wages and resources,but our commitee want us to follow the hospital pay structure and thier holiday procedure this is where the problem is,
i work part time the back end of the week, i am entitled to 87 hours holiday and then i am given 25.5 for bank holidays, so i have just completed the hours form to wrap up last year, i am carrying over 9 hours form holiday but i only used good friday as bank holiday hours so i am left with 20 hours so before i go in and discuss these hours i wondered what other people thought can i use these hours on other days or is just soley for bank holidays.
I have talked to friends and some take it out off their hours and some are just told so many hours and all bank holidays.
Any helpful suggestions would be good, thank you for reading the above and i look forward to your responses.

I get given 'Bank Holiday' hours, and always have an excess because I don't work Mondays!
My employer gives me an allocation per calendar year, & I have to use them or lose them in that year. Works out about an extra week off, for me!

With Agenda for Change you get your Annual Leave as well as Bank Holiday days in lieu.
I work Full Time(37.5 hrs) so entitled to 60hrs Bank Holiday Leave on top of allocated leave.This is regardless of wether I work them or not.
Your manager can allocate the Bank Holiday Leave as he/she sees fit but sometimes will negotiate this as 1 weeks leave and some days.I advise my staff to try and use this leave just after a Bank Holiday as it is easier for me to fit in earlier in the year rather than later-whentrying to get rid os all allocation.
Do not forget that this financial year includes 2 Easter periods so 10 Bank Hols this year April '07-March 08,but I assume only 6 next year.
If in doubt speak with a friendly Union Rep who will usually point you in the right direction.0 -
