For all intents and purposes as far as the OP is concerned, YES!
That may not be the theoretically correct, or regulatory correct, answer, but as far as good advice to the OP is concerned it's the best answer
As I have said, and you have acknowledged, anyone currently on this type of tariff that attempts to switch supplier invariably ends up in tears.
Its no different than any other regional dual MPAN meter.
It ends in tears for a reason - the customer switches without ensuring the new supplier has an available tariff and finds out after, hence can't be billed.
As long as the supplier takes both MPAN's, has a billing system capable and has a tariff, it works fine.
So, as long as suppliers using a dual MPAN capable systems have a tariff and are willing to sell it to new customers, the switch is only slightly more complicated to pull all the data together.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
Whether or not other suppliers are willing to take on domestic 2-MPAN sites is for them to decide or comment. In my experience I've never seen a successful 2-MPAN domestic switch. Unless another supplier requests both MPANs at exactly the same time we will object due to multi-MPAN site with only one MPAN being requested. This is why most requests fail. David
Yes, you will object per SLC14. That's correct.
The fact that is not correct is your first point stating that other suppliers don't support dual rate MPAN's. To name 2, Eon with Heatwise & Npower with Superdeal. Since EDF also came from regions that also had them, I expect they also do. So, you can't make that claim.
I have seen successful dual MPAN switches. I've also seen customers not with SP being billing with Comfort Plus. This is why I think your point should be clarified because you made the statement that only SP do this but have now said its for other suppliers to comment...so how do you know SP are the only one? Should you not claim that you can but can't comment on other suppliers?
Hence suggesting correcting the original post to avoid this.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
