Hi there,

I am in receipt of disabled persons allowance on my rates bill, but havent received my 2007 rates bill yet. Anyone else who gets DPA not received their bill either?

Yes, I was surprised to see the postman drive past my house this morning without stopping. Is it only those of us who receive DPA? Perhaps we're getting a year off :rotfl:

maybe they are going to recheck each dpa applicant again as the discount now for a lot of people is going to be 25% insted of the usual £30-50.

Postman's just been and no rates bill again.
As far as reassessing everyone is concerned there won't be time before the payments are due (first week in May?). I pay by one annual Direct Debit so I have to know how much to put into the bank account before it becomes due.
I didn't know DPA was going to be 25% of the total - last year I got £187.46 which was (roughly) 15% so I should be a gainer under the new system.

No bill for me either (Derry City Council area). I phoned them last week ("rates bills are being sent out in shifts") and e-mailed them (no reply). Perhaps they don't want our money? :rotfl:

Yep none today either. I think this dpa thing is somewhat confussing thier system or they are having second thoughts. The thing is if you pay your bill in full before a certain date in May, you get an extra 4% off I think. But if we dont get the bill then for anyone who is thinking of settling in full to get that extra 4% discount will loose out because that date might have passed.

They're not due out yet, staff in local rates offices arent aware when they are due out, but they where deliberatly held back. Also I know for certain the discount date will be later for those who's bills didnt issue to later

Mine finally arrived this morning. With the DPA rising to 25% my overall rates bill is £300 less than last year :rotfl:The last date for the 4% discount is 15th June 2007 so I am assuming my (single payment) direct debit will leave my account on the last working day of May.
