Getting access to any profile , public or not, was never much of a problem for some of the recruiters I knew.0

would also suggest you google whatever e-mail address you use and see what comes up. i always put them into linkedin, facebook and google plus. on that note i'd also add check what your email address i've not interviewed a couple of people due to questionable yahoo or hotmail addressesThe futures bright the future is Ginger0

Forgot to add this and great shout, this throws up far more information than people think.would also suggest you google whatever e-mail address you use and see what comes up. i always put them into linkedin, facebook and google plus. on that note i'd also add check what your email address i've not interviewed a couple of people due to questionable yahoo or hotmail addresses
Especially where facebook and other social sites are concerned. Some people think by making their FB profile called "Keyser Soze" rather than their real name and hidden from the public does not work when you put in the same email addy they use for their job application as you will still find them0

I would always do a Google search and a Facebook one too when interviewing - I've had some lucky escapes from some horrors! Additionally I always check LinkedIn when I'm going to an interview myself to see where the interviewer has worked, etc. However, a word of warning - remember that it will show up on LinkedIn that you have looked at their profile!0

Log out of linkedin, open another browser then you can view profiles without it registering as you viewing.0

Yes, it does and there are posts from my moniker on other forums going back to 2002. Though some will almost certainly be cached, the redirect to the actual article may have long since been removed.
Yes one does need to be savvy with the name. If your a 'Dave Smith', then you are probably safe, but not from the savvy combination of the name and other relevant terms together in the same search.0

Alternatively change your settings so it shows a member of public or it shows your last job title only and location. If you do this then you wont be able to see who viewed yours though so just chage it back.Log out of linkedin, open another browser then you can view profiles without it registering as you viewing.
Or like me setup another linked in profile and add who you want and then view who you want;)0

i was surprised by how many people have open profiles, especially considering what was on them!
Do you think they do this for Uni applicants too? Im doing an access diploma and a girl on our course went on a fb rant about single parents. She wants to embarke on a career where she needs to not judge anyone, at all!!! Could this bite her on the bum later on? xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea0
