New mortgage - FTB credit check

Hi,
I've got my deposit, I've got Nottingham property services to do agree in principle my mortgage, but now need to find our new home!:T
In the meantime I thought I would check my credit rating, after not having any bad arrears or missed payments, and a recent agreement for finance car with a very low APR.
Logging into experien my report came back poor, but then I noticed that my last address wasn't on this, and infact all details were over 4 years old. So I input my new address and was told to wait 24 hours for update. In the meantime I went on equifax and checked my details on that! Great credit score, border line excellent. Exactly what I thought! Only the new finance letting me down, I have one credit card no out standing balance, never in my overdraft and paid off my natwest loan one year early.
I then checked experien this morning, all my new details have been entered but still a poor credit report? How is this even possible? I would understand if they varied slightly! But there opposite ends of the scale? I have to admit I'm worried In case my credit check is done with experien! Which I believe is totally inaccurate?!
Anybody with any ideas on this.????

This is why the automated credit scores are worthless. The lenders only judge on the content of the data itself and not Experian or Equifax's artificial score.

Are you sure that Experian does not contain details of an old address, or linked addresses that is affecting the "score"

Recent credit for something like Car Finance will not pose a problem.

When you say Nottingham service, do you mean Nottingham BS or an Estate gents/Mortgage Broker named Nottingham something similar?

Nottingham BS manually assess and underwrite cases, so hopefully this should work to your advantage if everything is as it should be.

    Best of luck

  • Thanks Dave! I have to wait till Saturday when I do my application, which is with Nottingham BS! So ur advice not to worry about it reading poor, they just check all the details for my credit background is accurate to what I've told them! Phew!!!! Dream home a little closer come Saturday then I Hope!!!!
