Exempt from court fees?

Please can somebody talk me through the process if you are exempt from court fees? Do you complete the exemption forms and take them to court and they agree there and then you dont have to pay so you only hand over £500?
DH has zero income and mine is very low I think I looked at a table before and we were below the threshhold. We are seriously struggling to save up the money so knowing that we only have to find £500 provides a bit of relief.

thanks I am reading that now further confused!
I would have applied under concession 2, low income. It says if you have no income you have to apply under concession 3. My DH has no income, he is applying for BR. I have an income. So do we apply under concession 2 or 3? thank you0 -
Is it just him going BR?
Your joint income it taken into account even if one person is applying for fee remission however.
