Have come to the conclusion that wonga don't actually read emails but just have an auto response asking you to ring them!Debt @ 17/11/12: £12,017 :embarasse. Hoping to be debt free by June 2014

Hey Dave
Welcome to the club! Don't lose any sleep about the creditors mate, you will have paid for what you borrowed numerous times over, and it's not like you're trying to get out of paying, you are simply asking them for a bit of bloomin' flexibility and humanity in a tough situation.
You should join the DMP thread, it's great for sharing stories and is very supportive. BTW, I was asked by CCCS to do a little blog thing on my debt/DMP experience a while back, follow the info in my thread to find it. We've been on a DMP for just over 2 years and it's been a bloody godsend.

Cheers moneywaster, always good to talk. Got another email from wonga this morning refusing to provide my loan reference number. Will ring them in a bit and try my best to prize it from them. I already sent the letter advising them of DMP so am worried they will refuse to issue my number so that stepchange can't help!
If they wont issue with your number, you may have to make repayment arrangements with them personaly ? but understand you would rather have them in your dmp.

Cheers Simey. To be honest I'm not too worried about my credit file. Once I've cleared my debts I will be in a position to save and pay for things up front. My current thinking is that I never want credit again, will use a payg mobile and do things the old fashioned way where money is concerned. I am registered with Noddle as they are free so will keep an eye on things. Cheers.
Dave I am with you on that one, Its credit that got me where I am and gave me the stress I had. My plan too is to pay cash in future. Good luck with Wonga
OO dave noddle ? never heard of them.....something new learnt again from this site, cheers Dave

Noddle is the free credit report tracking site (though they do have paid options I think). Service is basic but you can keep an eye on most things. Don't like the way you have to pay a monthly fee to credit expert etc.Debt @ 17/11/12: £12,017 :embarasse. Hoping to be debt free by June 2014
