Hi,

I am looking for the best rate for a secured loan on around 25k please, paid over 15 years. Anyone know the best place and rate. Would prefer to be able to agree by mail/online if possible due to personal circumstances.

Thanks.

  • Have you not thought about going down the unsecured route, which would be a lot safer from a homeowner point of view, plus you would be paying it off a lot sooner 7 years tops and paying less interest as well. I have just taken out a loan with Northern Rock for £25K over seven years, plus with NRS you can make over payments without penalities. Worth thinking about

Thanks MAD. It's for my mum, I am tryig to work out what is best for her as she only owes this on her mortgage and with the rate looking like it is going up again I thought the loan route might be better as it will be fixed and I was lookng for a lower rate. I am not sure she would get unsecured as she does not earn much money so this is why the secured would be better for her. I guess she can try though - no harm in asking. Thanks.
