Samples for extra present?

Hey all
I used to work for Avon, so have alot of samples in a box.
I was wondering if it acceptable to give samples as extras christmas presents??
For example, Im sending my friend a necklace via post for Christmas, and was thinking of adding some face cream samples, lipstick samples and perfume samples. Would this be ok? or is it abit rubbish/cheeky that because they're just samples?!

I would probably say here is your gift and here are some extra little things I had that I thought you might like. I've got some stuff to give to my best friend for Christmas, I've told her that as well as her presents I had a couple of things already that I thought she might enjoy and so have included them.Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

I make christmas crackers out of face cloths and usually put shower gel and shampoo samples inside the cardboard tube before wrapping round with the face cloth.
I have also made some with make up samples and toiletries to give out at the hospital. The maternity ward patietns seen to like the make up sample ones as they forget to take their own in the rush to get in.0 -
