And if you had bothered your butt to look at the threads in the Over 50's board you would have seen this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4278275 which contains all the information you need.

Well I gave up on that thread eventually - it didn't at that stage contain 'all the information' and it was becoming increasingly evident that no one knew exactly how the dates are determined. Some general ideas, yes, some correct as far as they went, but nothing precise.

Since before I put question on this thread ,there has not been one post written on the over 50,s board, hence the reason I asked question on here, plus this thread is full of knowledgable people.Mind you I love doing jokey style questions as their is always someone without a sense of humour who responds..makes life more fun.
  • Grandad received his on Friday but got his letter on Saturday!
  • Im still alive and kicking. Last years payment was credited to my bank account on the 24 November.

    UPDATE.

Mine arrived in my bank account today. Just in time to replenish the coal bunker.

Hey,hey, there is really really no need for that sort of response.

Quite so McK. "Bothered your bum" would be British English.

I don't get £200, funnyguy, I get £100. DH gets the other £100 and, as neither of us tells the other what to do with any incomings apart from our normal budget, I shan't ask him for his £100. Even if I did, I can think of lots of other good causes closer to home.

I need to pay off my credit card in December because it's traditional to be out of debt to start a New Year with a clean slate.

    Have just read this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2236440/Crippling-energy-prices-badly-insulated-homes-lead-loss-thousands-lives-seriously-damage-older-people-s-health-winter-warns-new-report.html

If you look at the comments below the article, one contributor describes her Mum who, with her friends, spends the £300 which she gets on Christmas presents but will not turn her heat up. I've heard similar stories. I'm afraid this gives the whole scheme a bad name.

As I am her toyboy,I dont qualify for allowance yet.We dont do His and Hers money,we just pool our income and use as nec.The way we do it is that her pension pays all the direct debit bills, and I pay all the food/petrol etc on credit card[paid off each month]and then I give her a weekly ammount, and if she needs more for anything I just give it to her. All this chat about what you spend the allowance on doesnt really matter ,as the money is just absorbed into your grand total of income of which part of which will go towards your gas/leb bills.
