Has anyone heard of these? I hadn't until I got an email from them today telling me that "In line with current data protection and privacy regulations, we are sending you this email to advise you that you are registered on the SThree Internal Recruitment database."

This is news to me. I know I've applied for a few jobs in the past week or so but I can honestly say I haven't registered with them. Like I said, never heard of them til now.

Could it be that my details have been given to them by another job site that I'm registered with?

The problem, in my experience, is that half the time it never says whos actually placing adverts and so you have no idea who you are actually sending your details to. Likewise, recruiters can buy access to all public CVs from the likes of Monster etc and so could have gotten the details from one of those sites.

Ultimately you could contact them and ask them how they got it but in my experience they rarely will tell you or say their system doesnt record the source.

Isn't SThree a holding company? I seem to remember Computer Futures being a part of them.
