Online test for NEXT

OK, bit of a rant really (well maybe), yesterday applied for a security officer job at NEXT, sat the online test on the website - all about retail and serving the customer - OK, get e-mail back today that I'd failed (not bothered really, it happens).
The one that struck me was that the online test was all about serving customers - no problems with that, it's a retail business. BUT the post I was applying for was a security officer, NOT customer service. Is it me or are NEXT applying too much of a generic system to weed out people applying, could they be missing out on potentially good applicants for certain roles by using this test??

Just a thought.

Security guards in retail shops are still customer facing.

Yeah, good point. I think the one annoying thing is there is no feedback (can't ask for it) so you can't see where you have gone wrong (shouldn't really be that hard to show you the questions you got wrong so you can improve yourself - but then again, if you then apply for another job, you know how to answer the questions LOL)
At least I got an email off them - the number of companies that don't is scary (fully understand those that say they will not get back to you - no problems there)

Just seems a bit strange to have one test online for ALL jobs (including stockroom/backroom stuff that is not customer facing - and stated in the ads as being such)

I had to do a test that a shop worker would do when it was a job in the cash office not customer facing and the questions were all about serving customers, stock etc. For Primark and failed
