In the space of a week I've had phishing emails for Ebay, winning the lottery (although I never entered) AND got a job in the States (never applied) and all I have to do is send them ALL my personal info and I'll be rich!!!:rotfl:
Great!
Anyone else? Why so many all of a sudden?

Not sure Bunny, have you signed up for anything new recently? Could some dodgy company have sold your details on?
Congrats on the new job in the states and the lottery win though lol! Hope you're going to share the money with us all!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Oh Bunny, I've had loads of e-mails recently from re-financing companies in the USA saying they have approved my $325,000 mortgage.
I had one today asking if I wanted residency there!0 -
Ever thought of just dropping them a quick reply asking can they forard you a cheque as you dont believe the internet secure enough for financial arrabgements. (Oh, and that you need it made payable in Sterling):rotfl:No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

I had one a short time ago telling me this poor man in Malaysia perished in the Tsunsami and they wanted me to (illegally) pose as his only next of kin to get his millions out of Hong Kong - for 25%!!!!!!
The half a million I won today I was laughing over, when my SIL said "phone him to claim it quick!". I explained about the admin fee scam etc and she still thought it was worth it.
I then told her (whilst in disbelief) that I hadn't entered a competition or lottery emphasing on the scam bit and she told me to hurry up before they noticeed they had made a mistake by incorrectly offering me the money!!!!0 -

That's whats worrying about it all... there must be people out there who fall for it because otherwise they'd stop sending the emails. If people didn't fall for it - they wouldn't be offering it."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Oops - sorry Kath...
forgiven
Its a scary indicator of how trusting (gullible) people are. And surely its related to people's implicit trust of financial institutions and businesses... as Martin talks about. In fact, the British seem to me to be very wary of questioning anything official or any 'authority' ... my dad (not british) always surprises doctors and the like by asking for a second opinion, that's just how he was brought up.
Ramble over:rotfl:
