Since I've moaned about it a couple of times on the board I thought I should update about Party Bingo.
This may be of interest to anyone waiting for Party Bingo points and for Dorothy Perkins winners.
I've been pretty frustrated with Pigsback lately as since joining the site in late September 2006, I've had many problems and have had to chase numerous times for points.
Anyway, I signed up for Party Bingo on April 10th and fulfilled the offer requirements the same day, so I should have had the points by today. Given my problems so far, I am glad to say I took screenshots of everything. I completely expected that I would have to chase for the points and I'm slightly sheepish to admit that each day when I logged on and saw they had not been added I stewed myself up into more of a state of annoyed indignation. I really get my knickers in a knot over companies who promise things and don't deliver, and Pigsback have been doing it repeatedly. (I really need to learn to chill a little).
Anyway, on Tuesday evening I sent Pigsback the following e-mail,with all the relevant screenshots attached:Hi,
I've noticed that the 1500 points I am due for signing up for the Pigsback Party Bingo offer have not been added to my account. As stated on the attached offer screenshot, these points were due within one month. As I signed up for the offer on April 10th (at around 7.30pm, if that helps), and fulfilled the offer requirements the same night, tomorrow marks the end of the one month within which the points should have been awarded. Please find attached screenshots demonstrating the required deposit, made on April 10th, and the necessary accrual of Party Points. I would be grateful if you would arrange for these points to be added to my account. Please let me know if you require any further information or evidence.
I am disappointed to find myself, yet again, in the position of having to chase for points that I am due and, from reading the Pigsback thread on the MoneySavingExpert forum, I know I am far from alone in feeling this way. As I have previously said, I believe it is unacceptable to continually make offers and fail to fulfil your side of the bargain. Having finally had enough, I feel it is only fair to let you know that I will now be writing to Trading Standards, Which? and BBC Watchdog, as well as any other consumer bodies I can think of, to draw attention to the way Pigsback is being run. Again from the MSE fora, I know I am not the only one considering this to be my only remaining option. I feel especially disappointed on behalf of the "winners" of the Dorothy Perkins quiz, some of whom have been waiting since before Christmas for their prizes, and many of whom are now reporting that they are receiving no response to their e-mails. I understand that Pigsback are in a difficult position when trading partners do not uphold their end of arrangements, but I am of the opinion that when Pigsback members enter into agreements with Pigsback then it is the responsibility of Pigsback to ensure their members are rewarded as agreed, regardless of difficulties with partners. After all, problems with partners are nothing to do with your members and they should not be passed on to us. Frankly, if we uphold our ends of your offers, we should be able to expect points or prizes to be awarded in a reliable and prompt manner, without the continual need to take screenshots so we can later prove we are due the points, and without the need to constantly chase.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Emma
This morning I received this response:Hi Emma,
Thanks for your mail,
I'd just like to address some of the points you raised in your email.
We do realise that it is not acceptable when PiggyPoints are not credited as per the terms of the offer and the whole company is making efforts to reduce these instances and eventually ensure that we reward members on time for every transaction, as well as ensure that what is stated on the offer page is as accurate as possible.
However PiggyPoints are credited on time for the majority of offers and in cases where a member's account has not been passed back to Pigsback.com for a PiggyPoint credit we will make suitable enquiries with the member and our client on the issue.
These enquiries are necessary when there is no record from systems or our client that a transaction has occurred.
In the instances where a client report is not forthcoming within the time advertised on the offer page, then we will continue to pursue the matter until it has been resolved.
On the matter of competitions, specifically Dorothy Perkins, this is both a failure on our method of managing the competition as well as the problems we have had securing the competition prizes.
Currently we are focussing on the matter to recompense any member affected, as well following up with our client to make sure that all prizes are delivered to us to send to any prize winner.
On the matter of email queries - our policy, which is enforced is that all queries are answered and the aim is to do so within one working day.
I have issued PiggyPoints to your account for PartyBingo - a report is overdue, and the current offer is no longer on site.
I'd like to apologise on behalf of Pigsback.com for any frustration and annoyance caused to you and am sorry that you feel you wish to pursue the matter outside of Pigsback.com
However if you have any further queries or comments please let us know and we will be happy to address them for you.
Kind Regards,

On checking I found 2000 points have been credited to my account. I shall still be contacting Trading Standards though because I feel that I've been let down by Pigsback too many times now. I know I would not have got the points today if I had not taken screenshots of absolutely everything, and I think it's outrageous we are forced to do this to document our every action just so we can push Pigsback to fulfill their obligations!
However, just to balance this rant, I should mention I was pleasantly surprised to receive the points for 2 Boots orders without having to contact Pigsback. The orders were placed on April 12th and I fully expected to have to chase the points. However the points were credited on May 3rd with no problem at all. Mind you, it just goes to show how things are with Pigsback when on an occasion when they do exactly what they said they would, it comes as a pleasant surprise!!

I'm glad you have the guts to stand up for yourself. your post made me laugh, as i feel the same about alot of companies who let me down, and yes, i have been known to rant as much as you in my emails lmao
I hope you get a good outcome, and perhaps these problems will be addressed. i am pretty fed up with chasing and screen shots too.0 -
It is a real shame for the 'winners' of the Dotty P quiz, and for Pigsback in a way. It's Dorothy Perkins who should be ashamed of themselves. Im sure that with Pigsback Assistance/advertising their online sales and those by people who have earnt vouchers to use in their store, have increased considerably.
Pigsback in my view, or as far as Im aware, offer their partners a mutually beneficial service, everybody benefits. The partner benefits with more members and advertising, Pigsback benefits which they then pass on to us as a consumer.
I think Dotty P has let everyone down, they didnt uphold their part of the bargain.
SHAME ON YOU DOT!!!
PS., my relative won it and has given up hope of receiving the prize. As far as I know he never got a reply from PB when he emailed them a while ago. He's more laid back than me, Id be chasing it up if it were me.xxxThis above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. I am not technical, but managed to do this. And you can have them both open at the same time.
Hope that helps.0 -
