Hi,
I've just made blackberry & apple crumble and gone a bit mad making the topping and made way too much
Can I freeze the left over uncooked topping to use next time?
Thanks in advance

No problem to freeze and will be fine to use straight from the freezer next time. DH would have the whole lot used on one crumble anyway.Truth always poses doubts & questions. I'd be tempted to bung it all on anyway; I find the crumble tends to soak in if the fruit mix is sloppy."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

I'd happily eat the hot crumble topping on it's own with ice cream or custard!
.... but yes, it will freeze fine as it is and can just be tipped on to the fruit next time, straight from the freezer0 -
Brilliant thank you very much0

I do it all the time, make double the quantity use one portion and freeze the other, it is really handy if you want to make a quick dessert for unexpected guests or as a midweek treatBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I always keep a bag of crumble topping in the freezer. I also keep a bag into which I throw any leftover fruit - slightly squashy berries, peeled slightly wrinkly apples etc. Then when the fruit bag gets full I chuck that in a bowl, stir in some sugar and spices and top it with the frozen crumble, and bake. Almost instant pudding0

You can also just keep it in a bag in the fridge for a couple of weeks.
Or you can spread it out on a baking sheet, and bake it until it's golden, and store it cooked in an airtight box for quite a few weeks, then you have instant crumble, over a bit of stewed fruit!
