Who is paying my Tax?

Hi,

I recently started a job as an Office Administrator for a small business with only 3 member os staff.
I received my first pay slip at the end of the month and noticed that no PAYE was deducted but NI was.
I am now concerned, as I don't want to get in trouble for not paying PAYE.

Any advice would be great thanks.

Well you are allowed an annual allowance before you pay tax. It is
    £8105.

Have you had a job in this tax year, claimed jsa or ESA.

Did you give your new employer a P45 or fill in a p46 when you started.
I really dont think you have anything to worry about. This is quite normal.
    Especially since you paid NI.
You possibly wont pay any tax for a while.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Were you in employment prior to this? It might be that you have not earned enough in the year to start paying tax.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life

So how much earnings and tax deducted was shown on your P45?
    What is your tax code?
What have you earned in your current job?
What date were you paid up to?

If you are earning less than £675 a month then there won't be any to pay as its under £8105 a year.

Your tax code on your payslip should be 810L if you have no adjustments from the normal tax rate due to over/underpayments. If it is and you are earning less than the above two figures there is no need to worry.
