in Cutting tax
I have successfully changed from Band D to Band C and received a refund back to the tax year 2001/2002. Now council are refusing to refund back to 1993 as it is not their policy to refund more than six years. What is mt next course of action?

phone them and ask to speak to the manager and ask him to confirm what legislation prevents him from refunding (HINT - there is none). Policy is not acceptable. They have no right to refuse refund where they know there is a credit owing due to an error in the valuation list. If you want PM me and I'll give you the legal info to back this up.it's not the council's fault your band is wrong, blame the Valuation Office !!!!! :rolleyes:0
