I'd ring the mortgage company. Not your friends.

Not being funny but why are you asking your friends and strangers on the internet before your mortgage company? Not having a pop at you but surely your lender should be the first port of call?
  • who said i was asking strangers on internet? i asked my mum and i asked my friend who works in a bank and they both replied saying that i was in credit just thought i would ask someone out there just to verify thats all x sorry to bother u x

You say DWP are paysing some. Are you paying the remainder?

Like I said, I wasn't having a go at all, I just don't understand why you wouldn't call the lender.

Is there any chance you could tell us what this "mortgage letter" might be?

In addition, would it be possible for you to put some context around what you are asking?

Presumably this is something to do with support for mortgage interest?

If it states that you're in arrears, I can't see you being ahead of your payments. What exactly does it say? Does it give you the outstanding amount of the mortgage, or the amount of arrears? Are you behind in paying?

As others have said, phone them up and ask the situation.
  • If you've not had letters or calls from the lender asking for money then you are in front.

A minus usually means overpayed/in credit ie -£726.76 means the account is overpayed, therefore less interest being charged.
