Employer cancelling authorised holiday

    Think you will find it is twice the the length of the holiday to be taken.

    Actually it may be just a minimum of the same amount of time as the holiday rather than twice the amount.

    I'll try to find out more.

    I can't remember either but it is one or the other so makes no odds in this case.

    It is quite sobering to remember this when booking holidays well in advance. Your employer has a right to cancel your leave at relatively short notice and this could leave you seriously out of pocket. I assume (no expert on this) most holiday insurance wouldn't cover any such losses?
