M & S Weekend In food offer

Not sure if it's me being stupid but I can't find a price for the Weekend In meal deal. Perhaps this is the new name for dine in for £10.... Can anyone help?

Think it was £10 for main, side and dessert plus 'free' bottle of wine or Belgian chocolates.

    Most definitely not £10!

Lots of people abandoning their shopping at the till this morning at our local Simply Food, despite staff trying to tell people that it's not £10.

As PP has said, it's the price of all the individual items (main, side and dessert) but the wine is then free.
  • Yes, indeed, you have to buy a main, side and dessert and then you get a free bottle of wine. It's very misleading because some of the mains cost £10 (e.g. the rump steak) which is something I wouldn't expect (I would have thought it would add up to £10-12 in total). There are clear labels on the shelf but by now customers are used to the £10 deals so many probably won't pay much attention.
Shopping has become sooo stressful!!! I get tired of constantly comparing offers and remembering prices.

It took me ages at stupid o clock on Thursday morning to work out why I couldn't see a price for the m&$ weekend deal (online) then I realised that you had to buy the main/side/pudd to get the wine free which meant the deal suddenly became less appealing... then I saw the price of the rack of lamb in store (£9.99) and I ran away as fast I could !!:rotfl:

Glad it wasn't just me then that couldn't find the price! At least it has now highlighted the 'deal'!

Very low stocks at our local Simply Food last night and this morning. Only lasagne option left.

Staff said their expected fresh supplies had arrived frozen this morning so they'd had to send them back.
  • I used to work for M&S and we all hated these deals as people - especially those using self-service - would get really angry about "the tills not doing the deal properly". A lot would get very haughty and quite abusive.

There were rumours going around back then that the original dine in was on the way out as they weren't profitable enough...
  • I for one was a very unhappy shopper yesterday. The same shop as dine in was going to cost me 13 - I don t call that an offer I call it a 30% increase from last week. Needless to say I left mine as did the lady alongside me. Yes I m sure its a nightmare for the self service check in staff, I sympathise with them. I just hope most people were nt conned. Mr M&S this is not great service. I told the check in girl I would go to Tesco instead - I did and took advantage of the petrol offer.
I had to cook my dinner from scratch but it was lovely so I was told.
