I am wracking my brain here (to absolutely no avail!) as to what to get my kids for Christmas!
I have a 5 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. Neither of them have expressed a huge desire for anything in particular, and added to the fact that I don't know what to get in the first place, whatever I do get for them is going to need to be brought back to South Korea, where we are currently living, from the UK, where we will be spending Christmas. My attempts to encourage my daughter to start a thimble collection have not gone down terribly well, lol!
Sooooo, if any of you Christmassy peeps have any ideas at all for small, yet exciting, presents that might tickle the fancy of a 5 or 10 year old please share - all suggestions hugely appreciated as I am having a complete brain freeze!!
Cheers

Thanks for that - they'll be perfect for the kids' stockings, and also quite handy for me, as I'm keen to do some travelling within Asia but never quite sure exactly where anywhere is!!0

This version is cheaper, albeit 4 cm smaller: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Henbrandt-D1-Inflatable-World-Globe/dp/B001GCYGT2/0 -
what about card games, they are small and good for travelling - do they like top trumps? Magnetic travel games

Lego or playmobil doesn't take up much space (once out of the box!) The lego friends sets look great for girls
What about a bead set to make jewellery for your daughter?0 -
How about a watch each?
Zip up hoodie or cardi (from a shop they like/in their favourite colour/with their favourite character/band on)?
Hexbugs are small and light - though their habitats/mazes aren't as little. Popular with this age group though.
DVDs?
A tablet each? Obviously depends on budget. My DS has a Vtech innotab rather than a more expensive and more fragile tablet. It is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
my 9 year old dd is getting a engraved ipod nano (personalisation is through the apple shop)0

It depends on budget but I've bought my 10 year old dd an iPod touch 5th generation. I've bought mine from apple as they are not in stock anywhere around here. I chose not to get it personalised as my dd upgrades her ipod every year so it means she can sell her old one.0

Thanks for all the suggestions

I am coming to the conclusion that they just have too much stuff already!! They've both just had new watches, (dd for her birthday and ds saved up), I got them Hexbugs a couple Christmases ago, ds has my old iPod and dd got a Nano last Christmas... They'd both love a tablet, but it just seems a little excessive. Both of them also love Lego though, so that could definitely be an option, and card games would be great, especially for the trip back!0 -

Get Android tablets? Significantly cheaper than iPads. You won't get much memory or the latest OS for 50 quid but it'll still be functional. You could probably get ICS OS for under 100 quid or around that mark. If the RAM is decent enough then just upgrade the memory with some cheapy memory cards.
Tbh... it might work out cheaper than lego! Have you seen the prices these days...
