Great cheap exec office chair £45 inc delivery (merged)

Hello all, don't know if this is quite cheap enough for this board but it seemed like a bargain and apparently it is limited stock. Just got mine today and it's very nice. Good price, couldnt even find similar on ebay for cheaper.

After delivery and VAT it comes to about £45 which is down from £118.

Beware furniture@work, we ordered a filing cabinet end of January, they took money 1st Febuary saying it was in stock, we phoned 5 times each time they said it was being delivered next week. Once they agreed a refund last week in March it took us until last week to get our money back. Has cost us pounds in phone calls as they did noy reply to emails and refused to ring us back. In 7 years of internet shopping I have never come across a company like it !

This is exactly the one I bought last year, from the same company (Customer service is excellent BTW)

That said, there is a major flaw with these chairs / at this price range IMHO...
    ...

They've now changed the advert, but mine was sold as "reclining back" - now labelled as 'Back Tilt'. Basically the chair is fixed at a certain angle of back rest to the seat, unlike an Operator's chair where you can recline the back independantly.

You can either have it locked fully upright or unpin so that you lean back against a spring and the back tilts with the seat base raising up at an angle to match (as they are fixed in an L shape by the armrests being screwed solidy into both).

This lean back can't be locked and it moves back with you as you release pressure on the back and lean forward - I'm afraid I quietly went back to a high back operator's chair.

Just thought that you should be aware.
  • Yes good shout Digiteer I meant to add that at the end but forgot thanks.

Shame about your experience Tara, I had no problems, but you're right that's pretty unforgivable.

Mind you all in all after a couple of evenings on the chair i can say it's pretty comfotable and all in all not too bad for £45.

I had one similar that was £25 or £30 in morrisons all the same specs looked the same but it was crap really bad, the oh was leaning back in it and yawned that broke the arm rest so the seat was useless as the arm rests were what was used to keep the back attached to the seat part

I bought a very cheap chair from EBAY which was new - have a look as I was originally looking for a nursing chair for the wife and found that several companies were offering brand new office chairs at frankly stupid prices...I bought one which I now am trying to put somewhere just because I cannot pass a bargain - not a great money saver then...;)

I think you search for 'office chairs' and they should come up...
