    Yeah, I know the deal with regular savers! I made a real effort at the start of the year to do a shake up of my finances :) Switching bank accounts, putting money into savings accounts instead of letting it sit dormant in non-interest paying current accounts. As I said in my first post, wish I'd have done it years ago!

    Yes I do have a pension, I'm very lucky with that too as I was virtually made to sign up when starting my job at 16 (I'm now 27).

    I think they penny has just dropped, 12, £760 payments off my mortgage is a total of £9120, not £8850! In all the excitement I forgot to do the most basic calculation - I thought it was unusual that no-one on here had thought of it before...

    I did weigh this all up originally, and I think I actually would be better off saving the money rather than over-paying. But, I didn't want to miss the boat as it were whilst my mortgage rate is so low. So I decided to "compromise" and do both as much as possible. There is also the temptation to spend money that is in an account, if I'm paying it off the mortgage instead I can't do that :)
