Im after meal ideas for my 18 month old, She's not a fussier eater as in she will eat anything you put in front of her the only one thing she wont eat is potatoes !!!
Mashed, Boiled, Jacket and thick cut chips she will not eat; Skinny chips she will !!! Also has to be something for the whole family as I refuse to cook separate dinners.
She will eat anything, I think I'm just running out of ideas as I try not to repeat the same meal twice in a month.

Waffles as well are a no go she knows what they are and feeds them to the dog lol.
Pasta she will eat in abundance0 -
Have you tried gnocchi as it is a different texture to what you would expect from a potato based dish0

Ive tried it in sauce a few times she seems to eat around it, but my husband wont touch it as he said its the texture that makes him sick.
Ill have another go with them in stews and see what she thinks then.0 -
Have you tried sweet potato? You can do mash, jackets, wedges, etc. with them but the taste and texture is a bit different to normal potatoes. Make a big deal out of them being different - the colour may appeal to her too!0

Instead of planning a menu around the 18 month old I would just make the family meals and put a portion of whatever everyone else is having down to her, she will eat what she wants from her plate.
If she does not eat the potatoes do not worry she will get all the nutrients she needs if the rest of her diet is OK.
For the record my 11 year old would not eat potatoes until he was about 4, they were put on his plate every night whether mashed, boiled, roast, chips, baked or wedges and for about three years he did not touch them, then he started eating them,
We just ignored it to be honest and did not try to get him to eat it.
Don't be scared to give the little one what you are having both of mine had curry, chilli and other spicy food at this age and were fine with it.
Also try things like rice and couscous as an alternative to potatoes, we often have either when having a casserole or with fish or chicken.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

She is a cracking eater as long as there is no spud in there, she eats anything we stick in front of her.
We took her to an indian restraunt not long back and she was happily tucking in to hot balti's and rice, the chef came out the kitchen to see what she was doing and then gave her free puddings lol, spices etc arnt a problem we are quite adventurous with foods and eat all kinds of stuff, I think I look and worry too much because she wont eat potatoes, when I should really look at what she does actually eat and compere that to other kids.
Thank you for all your suggestions0 -

Hi again, it sounds like she has a really good diet anyway so I really wouldn't worry about her not having the potatoes, she will probably start to try them as she gets older.
It can be really hard not to stress about what they are not eating but as long as she gets a good balance of foods then she will be fine.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480
