I see you trust ebay sellers too

... so much so that you were prepared to defraud ebay and lose any protection they offer by agreeing to the sellers request to trade outside of ebay

Yes, I trusted that one and everything was perfect. I didn't use ebay but used paypal to have protection , and selling outside ebay was the seller's choice.

I didn't write this post to be told who to trust.. I'm 38 and I've never been wrong in my life (about trusting someone I mean, of course I've been wrong about many other things!). If you have nothing to say about the issue, please don't say anything. Thanks.

    Sounds more plausible then.
Has he really thought it through? One advantage of living abroad is that you become non-resident in the UK and not subject to UK tax - he would have to be paid abroad though. Not sure what local regulations he'd be subject to in the country he'll be living in either, but presumably his HR department will know that.

I think technically he won't be living abroad.. just spending a lot of time abroad. (apparently many of his collegues do this, but they keep a residence in the UK). You are right he should pay taxes in the other country, but he prefers to "pretend" he lives in the UK as it's easier for him. This is his choice and I don't have any input on this.

Hmmm...... sounds like dodgy practice by his company.....
Not that he has that much option......

As already stated he might be (significantly) better off doing it right! It all depends where he is going and what their tax situation and double taxation laws say.

Who will cover his medical... (If its EU he's OK)....

There are countries where this could turn out VERY dangerous for him..... that is he could be thrown into a 3rd world jail.... how will he get a residents visa etc. so he will have to pretend to be on business trips!

I don't know where this is but as a very close friend you might draw his to his attention!

He is not claiming benefits at the moment.
However, if he lost his job, and had to return to the UK, he would probably fail the 'habitual residence' test.
Using your address as where he's been living for this purpose would be fraudulent, and involve you in fraud.
(I'm not saying this is the intent, just pointing out things that may not have been realised.)

Thanks for pointing that out, but he won't lose his job.. even if he does he will have a line of recruiters offering him another one (yes, he's that lucky). Also if he lost his job I'm pretty sure he wouldn't stay in the UK.

cant see why his hr would require this
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
